Genstar Development Company, originating from Canada, was the proprietor of a substantial land parcel in the southern sector of Orange County, Florida, encompassing an area of 3,840 acres. The beginning of this affluent community's development dates back to 1984, with the launch of construction announced two years later in 1986 as an initiative projected to span 15 to 20 years.

In a significant transition, Genstar sold a portion of their property in 1987, to American Newland Associates, a general partnership based in California. A decade later, in August 1997, AG Land Associates, LLC, previously named American Newland Associates, transferred some undeveloped land to Westbrook Hunter's Creek, LP. The majority of Hunter's Creek was built during the late 1980s and 1990s.

Today the City of Hunters Creek is a thriving community. Hunters Creek has a total area of 6.5 square miles in the south west corner of Orange County. There are 38 Single family home neighberhoods and ten multi family home neighberhoods in Hunters Creek.
